Browsing Content
The Browse section is the heart of Fluentspeak, where you can find all of our learning materials, including Articles, Lessons, Word Lists, and Sentence Lists. This guide explains the common features you'll use to navigate and interact with content.
Accessing the Browse Section
- Open the main Fluentspeak menu using the hamburger icon in the top-left hand corner of the screen.
- From the menu, select the "Browse" option to expand the browse menu.
- From this submenu, you can select any of the available content types.
The Browse Page: Finding What to Study
When you choose a category (like "Articles"), you'll be taken to the main browse page. This page uses a grid of cards to help you find content that interests you.
- A. Sort & Filter Controls: Use the dropdown menu at the top to sort the content by different criteria, such as "Date Created" or "HSK Level." You can also toggle between ascending and descending order.
- B. Content Cards: Each card gives you an at-a-glance preview of the item, including its title, a short description, and key stats to help you decide if it's right for your current study session. Click anywhere on a card to open it.
The Item View: Common Tools
When you open any item, you'll find a set of tools that are consistent across the entire app.
- A. Item Browser Bar: This powerful toolbar is always at the top of the item view. It contains key actions like:
- Begin: Starts a timed study session for tracking your learning.
- Like/Unlike: Rate the content to provide feedback.
- Favourite: Adds the item to your personal Favourites list.
- Report: Reports any issues found in the content.
- Browse: Returns you to the main browse grid.
- B. Item Header: This section provides key information about the item, including its title, a detailed description, and relevant tags that tell you about the topics covered.
Each content type also has its own unique features and interactions. To learn about the specific tools for Articles, Word Lists, and more, check out our dedicated guides, which you can find in the sidebar.
